Visit famous Sol Duc Falls Sol Duc Falls are amazingly beautiful and only a three mile hike from the resort, or a two-mile drive past the resort and a one-mile hike in. This hike is a moderate hike with a 200 feet elevation and a good hike for families. These falls are the most famous in the Park, so don't miss them.

Go fishing There is excellent seasonal fishing in the Sol Duc River and nearby Elwha and Hoh Rivers, where you may find salmon, steelhead and rainbow trout, to name a few. We can recommend some good spots, but you'll need your own gear. A fishing license is not required in Olympic National Park rivers but please ask about Park fishing limits/regulations. (Note: fishing is not allowed within 100 yards of Salmon Cascades.)

See amazing Salmon Cascades See brilliantly colored salmon as they fight their way up the Sol Duc River for their fall run up the snow-fed, sparkling waters to spawn. The Sol Duc is one of the few places where the salmon run in every season. This phenomenon usually starts in early October. Fishing is not allowed 100 yards or closer to Salmon Cascades.
